The Genesis Centre is a multi-purpose recreational facility in NE Calgary. In addition to the full complement of fitness, health and recreation services, the complex provides facilities for large cultural events and activities as well as urgently needed indoor and outdoor soccer fields. In its brief eight-year history, the Genesis Centre has been consistently recognized as a hub for the community in the heart of the most culturally diverse quadrant of the city. It is the recipient of the 2017 Immigrants of Distinction Award for Organizational Diversity. It is currently recognized as an official site under the City of Calgary?s Community Hubs initiative. It now serves 2 million annual visitors, with 62% of all individuals recognized as a visible minority and 48% born outside of Canada.
