About Us

Calgary Rakushinkan is a traditional Japanese martial arts dojo in North Calgary. We offer an integrated curriculum combining modern Aikido with classical Japanese arts: Daito-ryu Aiki-jujutsu, kenjutsu, and iaijutsu. One of the few places in Canada where these are studied together as a unified system of budo.

Training is non-competitive and cooperative, rooted in authentic Japanese tradition while remaining accessible and paced to the individual. We welcome beginners and focus on developing balance, coordination, confidence, and character through respectful practice.

Programs are available for adults, teens, and a dedicated Kids Aikido program (ages 7–13). Instruction is open to all youth and adults of good character.

Our dojo has two convenient locations:
• Mount Pleasant Community Association — 602 22 Ave NW, Calgary, AB T2M 1N7
• Winston Heights-Mountview Community Association — 520 27 Ave NE, Calgary, AB T2E 2A6

Visit calgaryrakushinkan.com for full schedule and class details.
